Frequently Asked Questions

Is there parking?  There are 10 free parking bays directly outside the cottage, and these operate on a first-come basis.  We usually park here.  If it is busy, there are further free parking bays and street parking seconds away. The Eastgate car park is 1 min walk away, and you can park here if you need to (paid parking).  There are a number of EV chargers in Eastgate car park and there is one EV charger in the Black Swann car park next door.

Will I bang my head on the beamed ceilings?  We hope not!  John is 6’2″ and has plenty of head room.  The cottage is old and quaint, but not poky!

Is the cottage accessible for wheelchairs or guests with impaired mobility?  Unfortunately not.  The cottage is grade II listed which means we cannot make any alterations to it. The bedrooms and bathroom are up fairly steep stairs (which have handrails).

Is there road noise?  We are on the main road, but slightly set back behind the parking bays.  There is some road noise, but we have not had any complaints about this.

Is Yorkshire Great? Yes.
