What a lovely, clean and comfortable cottage - a real home from home. Comfy beds and everything we could possibly need. Loved our first visit to Pickering; will definitely not be our last. Thank you Julie and John.

We loved our stay again at your lovely cottage. So comfortable and cosy.
Had a trip to Scarborough, and a walk around Thornton Le Dale, where the Bangers & Cash is filmed (one of John's favourite programmes).
A train ride to Goathland, a walk around Aidenfield "Heartbeat" country.
Weather pretty good, no complaints!
We can definitely recommend The Black Swan just 2 mins around the corner. So good we went there twice!
Hope to be back again sometime!

Lovely cottage; perfect base for our short break in Pickering.
We had a few days on the North Yorks Moors Railway, arriving and leaving by steam train, so the cottage was ideally placed just a few minutes walk from the station.
We've had a great stay and would stay here again and recommend to anyone staying in Pickering.

Lovely cottage, great decor, ideal location for visiting places.
Had a great curry from next door takeaway. Malton town is really quaint. Grosmont railway station is interesting. Whitby was so busy you couldn't move down the small streets. Think if we visited there again I wouldn't do it in school holidays or in summer; winter would be better. The dogs enjoyed the stream and nice walk by the railway.
We will definitely visit Pickering again.

Visited Helmsley Castle, Dalby Forest and Scarborough.

We've had a lovely stay; the cottage is in a great spot for getting to a lot of places around N.Yorks. We've been to Whitby, York, Scarborough, Castle Howard, Dalby Forest and walked around the perimeter of Pickering Castle. We recommend Cedar Barn for a great pizza and the farm shop.

We really enjoyed our stay in your lovely cottage - so comfortable, clean and homely and fab location for exploring the area.

We had a tasty takeaway from Namaste Bengal, evening meal at the Black Swan, walked around Hole of Horcum, visited the beautiful Robin Hoods Bay and then onto Whitby!

Looking forward to visiting Dalby Forest and Malton on the way home.

From the children: I loved my bed! I don't want to leave! i really liked our bedroom and the rest of the cottage. Our dogs Rosie and Dora loved exploring all the sights. Hope to visit again! thanks for a great stay!

In Pickering we enjoyed eating at the Black Swan (recommend booking!) and good beer and beer garden at the Sun.

We drove to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay and walked the railway path between Goathland and Grosmont Stations.

Loved Malton and Helmsley where we recommend the Lido, the Walled Garden and Rievaulx Abbey.

Fantastic cottage: a perfect base for a family occasion and revisiting old haunts. The cottage is well equipped and nicely furnished with everything you could need! We enjoyed the steam train to Goathland as Harry Potter fans, and to Whitby for a quick wander up to the Abbey. Recommend Fox and Rabbit Inn on Whitby Road and Potter's Hill fish and chip shops - both stood the test of time; 15 years after our last visit!

Perfect location to explore all that North Yorkshire has to offer. The cottage is simply wonderful and Julie is a very attentive host.
We discovered "number 4" in Market Place - live music on set dates with an open mic 1st Tuesday of each month. Great way to enjoy a variety of talent. The "young" regulars were friendly, which helps.
Have already recommended to friends who love this part of England.

A lovely stay in Bluebird Cottage. A home from home.
Lots of lovely walks - a ride on the steam train to Whitby, dinner in the the White Swan, a gorgeous Indian from the end of the road.

We have had a lovely stay at Bluebird Cottage. The location is perfect for exploring the town by foot.
We ate at the Black Swan on our first night here; great food, service and dog friendly. A 1 min walk home made it a great choice.
Saturday we took the steam train to Whitby - goth weekend took us by surprise but great to see the sights! Fish and chips at Mister Chips were really good and dog friendly.
Sunday - RAINED ALL DAY - but made the most of the beautiful scenery with a drive around Goathland, Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Staithes and a Sunday treat from Spice 4U - 5 star! Black Swan, The Rose Inn and the Bay Horse were called in on too.

Thank you for a lovely stay at Bluebird Cottage. Very comfortable and well appointed. Been very lucky with the weather. Loved the ride on the coastliner to Whitby. Been through Pickering many times, but never stayed over before, Hope to return to your lovely cottage.

We had a lovely stay in your cottage. It was cosy, warm and had everything we needed for our stay.
We know this area well so were able to visit our favourite places - the hole of horcum and the walk to the Horseshoe Inn at Levisham (need to book) being the best.

We are very happy that we chose Bluebird Cottage for our visit to the area. It is perfect for us. We have been out walking the coast and the hills. A short hike to Mallam Spout was our favourite. Thank you.

Weather wasn't kind to us but we managed Designer Outlet, Helmsley, Scarborough and Thornton Le Dale. Had a lovely meal at the Black Swan. We will definitely be back.

What a lovely cottage! Very comfortable (especially the beds) and very well appointed. You have clearly given a great deal of thought to provide everything we might need.
A beautiful area - it has been lovely getting acquainted with it once again. Pickering itself is an interesting little town, as is Malton, and the NYM Railway is a delight.

Thank you for our stay at your lovely cottage. We felt very comfortable and it has been ideal for our break away. We really enjoyed the steam train trip from Pickering to Whitby plus we went to the Ryedale Folk Museum which we highly recommend. The Beck Isle museum, just a short walk into town, is also very good.

Bluebird Cottage has been a perfect base for our short holiday in Yorkshire, A beautiful house, with lots of lovely touches and everything we could need. Thank you so much to Julie and John for being such great hosts and for the very kind treats on arrival!
The highlight of our stay was our journey to Whitby on the steam train and a walk up to the Abbey. Also very nice visits to Malton and the pretty Thornton-le-Dale.
Locally here in Pickering we have enjoyed coffees at Nosh, drinks at the Black Swan and a lovely final meal the White Swan, after an early evening circular walk up to the Castle.
We are very much hoping to return next year, and would highly recommend Bluebird Cottage to anyone visiting the area. Thanks again!

Thank you for letting us stay at your cottage. We all enjoyed it. The cottage is a good base for Whitby, Scarborough, North Yorkshire Water Park and Flamingo Land. Fabulous stay. Cottage is so homely and very clean. Lovely welcome gifts on arrival - such a lovely touch. Pet friendly with safe outdoor space which was very much appreciated. We loved the steam trains and visited Goathland, and walked from Goathland to Grosmont getting the steam train back to Pickering. Well recommended. We also visited Whitby, Eden Camp and Malton - all well worth a visit. Malton was our favourite place with lovely independent shops and gorgeous cafes and restaurants, Very dog friendly.

We've really enjoyed our brief stay at the cottage. A lovely first ever visit to sunny Pickering, and trip into Scarborough.
We ate at Nemaste Bengal and enjoyed brunch at Cafe Cocoa.
Everything in the cottage felt clean and homely - we really cant thank you enough!
